SOYUZ Cultural Project at BLAZAR 2025
The SOUZ Cultural Project is taking part in the Blazar Contemporary Art Fair, held from September 10 to 14 at the Museum of Moscow. At booth 21, SOUZ presents the exhibition Shadows in the Cave, featuring works by three artists — Viktor Zhdanov, Xenia Dranysh, and Alexey Okishev.
Viktor Zhdanov’s medium of choice is leather, which he sees as the primal vehicle — or a shell — for the final image. His artistic practice is based on automatic writing and visions of the unconscious, which take shape through the creative process and crystallize into a unique visual language. Alexey Okishev’s works embody a constant dialogue between color and form, between memory and contemporaneity. The artist blends the rigid, all but dogmatic structure of socialist realist composition with an irrational, sensual, and audacious freedom of color.
Xenia Dranysh is a multidisciplinary artist exploring the fragility and volatility of human identity — the process of our sense of self being shaped by our environment, experience, and memory. In her works, Xenia fosters a dialogue between the physical world and the realm of emotion, between personal feelings and universal human issues.
