On December 1, 2025, the Moscow-based gallery Carré d’artistes celebrated its 10th birthday, while the SOUZ Cultural Project marked one year since its founding. The two institutions are united by a single owner — gallerist and collector Yulia Akimova.
The event featured works by artists represented by the SOUZ Cultural Project, including LU (Lucy Soloveva), Anastasia Bezvershuk, Eva Getz, Evgenia Dudnikova, Alexey Okishev, Sasha Nesterkina, and Tamara Shipitsina.
Among the first to congratulate Yulia Akimova were her husband Artem Akimov, Sergey Zhukov and Regina Burd, Olga Leffers, Viktoria Borisevich, Stephanie Chetverikova, Irina Chaykovskaya, Evgeny Zabolotny, Konstantin Andrikopoulos, Igor Garanin, Anna Andronova, Maria Kravtsova, Yasmina Muratovich, Anna Antimony, Nina Galitskaya, Alisa Ruban, Tatyana and Sergey Azatyan, Elena Baybakova, Yulia Frangulyan, Olga Myagkikh, Yulia Voronova, and many others.
The SOUZ Cultural Project, founded by Yulia Akimova twelve months ago, has since established itself among influential contemporary art initiatives. During its first year, the project participated in art fairs and organized several successful exhibitions.
The project’s biggest achievements so far include:
Participation in four major art fairs — Cosmoscow (Moscow), Blazar (Moscow), One Masters Monaco (Monaco), and Contour (Nizhny Novgorod) — displaying works by emerging artists to the professional community and strengthening the reputation of the new institution.
Two exhibitions held at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA), at its Gogolevsky Boulevard and Petrovka Street venues. The exhibitions featuring resident artists Lucy Soloveva (LU) and Tamara Shipitsina were both well received by visitors.
Following such a strong start, the SOUZ project has grown into a cultural platform that supports emerging talent and brings contemporary art to a wider audience.
Much has been achieved over the past year, with more opportunities and accomplishments still ahead.
